The Institute of Failure Analysis is offering the following skilled analytical capabilities:
Metallurgy - Material characterization for a variety of engineering applications; Determination of metal processing and surface hardening; Identification of defects, irregularities in materials (ferrous and non-ferrous), in machines structures and electrical boards.
Corrosion - Materials selection for corrosive environment; Applying proper solutions that consist of Cathodic Protection, Coating selection, Inhibitor implementation etc.; Identifying failure mechanism of corrosion phenomena including biocorrosion.
Construction Materials - Design of special concrete mixtures for special applications, corrosion problems in concrete, sealing materials and coating of structures, thermal insulation of structures and application of geotechnical products.
Industrial lubricants - Characterization and monitoring of dynamic industrial machines and transportation systems within a framework of periodical monitoring; Testing consists of spectrochemical tests, physical tests and Ferrography.
Aeronautics and mechanics - Functional determination of systems; Mechanical and Aeronautical design and manufacturing diagnostics; Fracture Mechanics and Finite Elements Modeling and Analysis.
